wonderment

blood in my love in the terrible summer; bloody red sun of fantastic L.A.

so this year i’ve been friends with some of my teachers

particularly my earth/space science teacher by the way of which we bonded over music but i think the initial draws were that i generally got the best grades in class/finished first and that i’m “a little left of center” as he put it.

today he put on music as we worked and then when he walked by i told him that i felt like if i burned him a CD of my favourite music he wouldn’t like it. he asked what my favourite music was and after a second of thought i told him my favourite band: the doors.

then he said that he’d bring his collection of funky 60s psychedelic rock and quizzed me on a few of the bands (i knew only two). then he let us get back to work and he put on the doors which really surprised me because it showed some act of giving me something he wouldn’t to most students in his class, like if he was asked to play one of their favourite bands

also it kind of freaked me out that he did that for the same reason that it surprised me.

still i got over that and just enjoyed riders on the storm and my friend’s reaction to the song (he felt like it was putting him into a trance to which i excitedly replied it was supposed to because i’m that obsessed with the doors and jim morrison i know that)

then i couldn’t pay attention to my work because the song was just too good
